Knowing It - Introduction: Do you know where your food comes from? Who grows it? Who harvests it and ships it? Or who "manufactures" it? Well, if the answer is no, you got company, as few people have that important information these days. In fact, try keeping track of what you eat and where it originates and how many miles it travels for a week - and you will be surprised at the difficulty of even finding that information. |

| Consider the sources of food that are available to you within a 120 mi radius of Las Cruces - who are they, where are they and how do you get food from them? Some of the answers are in "Finding It, but many of them are not. The search is up to you. If this is a new idea to you, it may seem a bit strange and even unreasonable to search out local foods when there is so much available at the local grocery store and there are so many fast food joints. But, there really are many reasons to make that change in your personal eating and purchasing patterns. You can explore more about them in the Food Systems and Learning Resource sections of this web site. So, consider the possibilities and begin your adventure when ready.
